Build STEM skills and engage students in how real world machines work. This class will inspire students curiosity in science and engineering while deepening their understanding of pulley and gearing systems in simple machines.
Using SPIKE™ Prime students design and build a robot arm They will program the motor and sensor to control the model and will collaborate to create a solution to a real-world problem and evaluate the results. This workshop will ignite students' interest in STEM and strengthen skills needed for a digital future.
Storytelling and story-making, are powerful tools for improving literacy and encouraging students to confidently communicate. Building LEGO® stories stimulates the imagination, encouraging creativity and helping students to come up with innovative new ideas.
For up to 30 students per class
Our grade 5/6 students were thoroughly engaged in the robotic design session. The challenge activities and the innovation part was a great way to extend their thinking and design/building skills.
Virtual Master Builder Incursion - The children in year 2 loved the LEGO incursion and have enjoyed remaking, being timed and racing their peers to build their tower creation. We found Imogen to be patient with the children (and teachers) and very clear in her instructions and requirements for the children.
We sincerely enjoyed our time at the STEM Learning Centre. The presenters were excellent and very well prepared. Our students were highly engaged at all times and the learning very motivating. Thank you for an excellent learning experience. We can’t wait to learn with you again.
